Knights Raise Over $3,000 For Intellectually Disabled
The Knights of Columbus Council 8274 raised more than $3,000 from this year’s Drive for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, also known as the “Tootsie Roll Drive.” This is the most that Council 8274 has raised in the last three years.
These funds will go to organizations that care for those with developmental disabilities. In the past, Tootsie Roll Drive funds have been donated several organizations, including: Boy Scout Troop 100, a troop for those with intellectual disabilities; Woodland Developmental Center in Marysville and Community Enterprises of St. Clair County.
Throughout the weekend, our volunteers saw great generosity from the people of Fort Gratiot, Port Huron and Canada. They also met people who care for those with intellectual disabilities, who were deeply grateful for the Order’s support.

You can make next year’s drive better
With more Knights, the Knights of Columbus could expand this fundraiser and donate more to this worthy cause. This is only one of several charitable activities that your Knights of Columbus Council participates in. Please join us to improve the lives of those in need.

There are a couple of ways that you can help Council 8274 continue to give to those in need. Here are our upcoming fundraisers:
- Coats for Kids Pancake Breakfast: Stop by the social hall after each Mass on Sunday, Oct. 28th. Funds raised from our pancake breakfast will go to purchase winter clothing for kids in need in the Blue Water area.
- Beef Raffle: Win half of a cow and a freezer (or $500). Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25.
